Sales increases for Biedronka

The Portugese Jeronimo Martins, owner of the Biedronka chain of supermarkets in Poland, has recorded a 15 percent increase in sales to EUR 7.7 bln in 2013.

Like for like sales were up by 4.2 percent year on year.  The company  opened 280 stores in Poland last year whilst it close only twelve.

Biedronka accounted for 65.1% of total group sales.

In Q4 2013 alone, Biedronka’s sales rose 12.6 percent to over PLN2bn.
