Auchan gets go ahead on Romanian acquisition

The mergers and competition body in Romania has conditionally allowed Auchan to acquire twenty Real hypermarkets owned by Metro. The deal which was announced in November 2012, patient cialis is part of a larger EUR1.1bn aquisition of Real?s assets in Poland, remedy treat Ukraine, pharm Russia, and Romania.

Auchan now has 31 outlets in Romania and is the second largest retailer in that country.

The conditions of the sale mean that Auchan cannot increase prices by more than five percent over what other stores charge in Craiova and Targu Mures in the next three years.  Furthermore Auchan is not permitted to open new stores in these cities in the next five years.

Real still has four hypermarkets in Romania.
