Cortec??s VpCI?-148 paper is a new, ed environmentally friendly, pilule grease resistant, corrosion inhibiting paper, comprised of biobased materials. In addition to its excellent corrosion inhibiting properties, VpCI?-148 also provides strong resistance to greases, oils, and solvents. Cortec? Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors (VpCI?) – fight corrosion at the molecular level and provide protection with corrosion inhibiting vapors that condense onto the surface of the products and form a thin, uniform, economical, and extremely effective corrosion inhibiting layer.
Unlike wax or polycoated papers, which contribute to environmental problems, this paper contains a biobased coating and is fully recyclable and repulpable. VpCI?-148 paper is made from highest quality natural Kraft paper, produced in Cortec?s state-of-the-art coating plant under controlled conditions, with full time quality control and research ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory. The product is also fluorochemical free, making it much safer alternative to traditional grease resistant papers. VpCI?-148 grease resistance, as tested according to TAPPI T-454 and UM 557 is the same or better than for commercial polycoated papers.
VpCI?-148 eliminates the need to inventory a variety of papers for each of the metals you need to protect as well as prevents package contamination by utilizing only the highest quality materials. It is very simple to use: there are no chemical concentrations to calculate or application systems to maintain and your products can be used immediately ? no surface preparation or cleaning is required.
VpCI?-148 paper protects ferrous and non-ferrous metals, dry or oiled, such as carbon, stainless and galvanized steel, cast iron, copper, solder, aluminum alloys and brass.
Typical applications are protection of products for storage and shipment that require lubrication (such as bearing and metal parts) in a variety of ways such as single item packaging or interleaving, sheet liners or separators between products. It can also be used for metalworking: stamping, sheet metal work, springs, bearings, fasteners, tube, pipe, etc., Also it is suitable for finished products: engines, machinery, equipment, tools, hardware, appliances, instruments, motors, etc.. Metal forging and die casting: raw and machined forgings and castings can also be protected.
VpCI?-148 paper is free of nitrites, phosphates, silicones, chromates, and other heavy metals. The product conforms to NACE Standards TM0208-2008, RP0487-2000, military specification MIL-P-3420, TAPPI-410 Standard and is RoHS compliant.
